Howdy, Madtown Mob! Been busy, busy, busy, but the Sporty is starting to go together on Monday!

So... What do ya think? Blue LEDs under the tank to liven things up, or strictly "old school" ??? It has a black springer front end with a "spool" 21" on the front.

  1. when a bike looks totally bitchin without an engine or wheels or gears or handlebars or lights or wires or nuts or bolts or screws you have to know youre on the right track.

  6. Yeah, they're pretty accurate. It's House of Color blue base with candy blue color intensifier in the first 2 clear coats.

  7. I notice your workshop is cleaner than the Madonna Inn Bathrooms. Have you ever thought of putting in urinals?

  8. That's what the trees out back are for. In foul weather, I have a sink in the hot rod side of the shop. That's why they put P traps on 'em, isn't it??

  9. So is House of Color a "bike paint" product? or, say, a vehicle-paint product? that is you would not get it out of a Krylon can or go to sherwin williams house paint dept?

  10. House of Color is the ultimate automotive / motorcycle paint on the planet. It's REALLY pricey, but worth it.

  11. is the design element, the ribbon or stylized flame, a different color of paint than the rest?

  12. I shot silver flake panels, then masked off the flames and shot the blue basecoat. Then I unmasked the silver, mixed the candy blue color intensifier in clear, and shot it over everything until it was the contrast I wanted.

  13. I started painting my own cars back in the '60s, and was painting for Earl Scheib by '69. It was pretty much trial and error. I still haven't tried the new water-borne paints yet, and probably won't until nothing else is available. Old dogs and new tricks, ya know??
